A Reminder

Last night after dinner I was propped in front of my computer, busy working and feeling bitter about it, and this popped into my email and completely changed my mood:

I just came across you blog since I am very new to blogging. I would like to thank you for all of the support I get from reading your blog. I am 28 years old and currently receiving cancer treatments. I did not have any children yet and the cancer was spreading too fast to harvest any eggs. My sister is going to be my surrogate and we are currently using an egg donor also. Please stop by my blog to read up on our journey so far. Thanks again! I love feeling like I am not alone. Thank YOU, Brenna! Thank you for reminding me to be thankful. Thank you for putting things back into perspective. Thank you for reminding me why I started blogging (because I was feeling sooooo alone, too). Thank you for reaching out and sharing your own journey. Your comment means a lot (and I hope you're not mad that I highlighted it here).

I am so cheering you on.

Its funny how I remember the virtual meeting of people too, so many years ago, so much has happened, and I'm so happy to have met you :).

PS - I'm missing reading blogs these days, standing up all the time with no internet access during the day really limits my blog time!

I love the power of blogging our stories and connecting forwards and backwards with others on the journey.

Blogosphere connected me with some of my favorite people... like you. And before I met all you cool people, I was crying and blog-reading and so many helped me.

Dear all, it's crazy but I can still pinpoint the moments you came into my life. Michael, that would be today for you! :-) And my life is so much richer for knowing you. In so many ways.

I think it's easy to get a little jaded as you stick with one thing for an extended amount of time: blogging, baby-making....it can get weary, right? Filled with moments of self-doubts, wondering why you're putting yourself out there. Legs up. Words flowing.

But this. This is why we do it. Because there are connections to be made. Wisdom to share. Lessons to learn. Laughs to be had.

Oh and when there are little victories? Joy. Sheer joy to spread among us. Brenna, honestly, your email was a gift. With perfect timing.
