I have really been looking forward to this morning.
And now, I'm so happy and relieved with the news I received: 1.) Daisy has a BFP!!! This is just the coolest. Not like I've ever met Daisy in person, but our cycles have been cosmically connected ever since she and I both had canceled cycles followed by 2 rounds of BFNs. Daisy took some time off and now....well, now I am hoping she joins me in twinland. 2.) the seedlings are great. As you know, I've been needing some reassurance. And I got that this morning.
At the doc's this morning, I had my first experience with a doppler, which found one heartbeat right away. Strong, fast, loud! Maybe I got a little teary. But then we searched and searched and searched a little more and couldn't locate a second one. I think the nurse saw me getting anxious and said, "forget about this. Let's go get an ultrasound!" I could barely eek out, "yes. please. can we?"
The room was free and I went inside to fret just a bit before the NP came in. We gelled up, moved the wand around, and then saw two big headed bodies - one getting kicked in the head by its sibling.
But don't worry. Not for long. They were both moving like crazy! Flipping, spinning, and um, kicking. Each other. How can I not feel that? The nurse pointed out the arms, the legs, the spines, the heartbeats....no pee pees yet, but Nurse confided that she had decided the primary kicker was a boy.
But maybe she doesn't know how feisty us ladies can be.
Childhood cancer survivor. That's the good news. Bad news? Chemo and radiation zapped my eggs leaving me infertile. Egg donors were found, several attempts were made and finally we were blessed with beautiful twin girls - born too early (21 wks, 5 days on Dec. 5, 2008). Hang out with me while we savor life with Big Baby Boy, who arrived via gestational surrogate on March 25, 2013.

This is Normal, Right?
Sunday afternoon saw me at my local CVS. The reason? I'll be traveling soon and due to the security restrictions that accompany flights these days, I had to go purchase my requisite 3 0z. or smaller see-through containers (that will all fit neatly into a quart-sized ziploc bag) to hold any gels and liquids I plan on taking with me.
I was already out of sorts since travel-sized anything goes against the thrifty shopper in me, not to mention the wanna-be earth momma.
But once I was there, I noticed that if you purchased $10 worth of certain candy/chocolate, you could earn an additional $5 in CVS bucks. Well hey! I thought, "gosh, I have been getting chocolate cravings at work lately..." and "a bag of werther's originals sure would be nice to have..." and within minutes I had made my selections and taken my basket up to the checkout.
Only to find that one of the bags I had chosen wasn't the "right" kind of candy to get my my CVS bucks. WTF?!? I demanded to see a manager.
Yes. I did.
And told her that I had made my selections using the "free CVS bucks!" as my guide. Surely I couldn't be wrong. And then she pointed out I grabbed the right candy; wrong sized bag. But she assured me we could just cancel out the previous bag and go grab 2 of the smaller bags. But then I would still need another small purchase to make my $10.
And that is when I realized I was staring (almost) $10 worth of candy. Candy! Ridiculous.
So I said, as sweetly as I could. You know what, let's just return it all. I really don't need any of it. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm sorry for the trouble."
What was I thinking???
This is normal, right?
In better news, my automated voice message reminding me of Thursday's ultrasound came from the "ob/gyn care" dept of my hospital.
I listened to it twice.
Nice.

Already?!?!
For some reason, I had in my mind that I had the entire month of July to get ready for the next FET. A full month to lose weight, get all yoga-fied and fit, fall into an acupuncture routine, visualize a big belly, you know, get ready.
It seems my calendar skills are off. Way off.
Got a call from our New Nurse yesterday afternoon (sigh, we finally had to say goodbye to Nurse, whose skills are needed for the "fresh" egg donor recipients that seem to be flooding the RE) to tell us that all systems were go and that we were ready to begin the routine - have some estrogen, have a little more estrogen, ok, now double that, now come over so we can wand your woo woo and see if your lining is responding. If so, pull out the big guns and begin your new and improved double dosage of progesterone, complete with, drumroll please, suppositories!
Ok, I'm making fun, but we really are excited about this cycle. Only, it's going much faster than I anticipated.
What?!?! Is that a woman trying to conceive who is actually complaining about something going too fast? Will the irony cops please respond? (and while you're at it, call in the italics police, this lady's going a little crazy...)
Luckily, I meet with my acupuncturist this afternoon. I am hoping we can ramp up our appointments to coincide with the shortened time frame. I have a whole week of vacation to look forward to next week, which seems fortuitous given that we are now looking at a transfer as early as the 18th?!?!?
My gosh. That calls for some beach time.
I originally scheduled the vacation to help prepare for this other big thing in my life that I'm trying to accomplish. (I'd link to something here if I weren't paranoid). Let's just say it involves a series of exams, government employment and the ability and desire to travel. A lot.
And yes, I do think that can happen with a maybe baby.
Plenty of time to talk about all of this later. Right now, I have some meditation to do.

Still Here
Still here. Still chilling. Still waiting for that Maybe Baby. And doing those other daily things like, you know, living.
Stripe test and ultrasound are Monday. If all goes well, hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy are June 3rd.
See how excited I am.
