Gosh, I never thought of it like THAT

Here’s a fun game to play with your partner – let’s try to pick out all of the things that thankfully won’t be acquired by your maybe baby since you won’t be using your eggs. For me, the obvious is my Hodgkin's Disease, which hasn't proven to be hereditary but then again there's no proof that its not.

But it seems that those traits also include:

  • My crooked nose
  • My bad temper
  • My bizarre body shape which includes a lack of a waist that no amount of exercise seems to affect
  • My snaggletooth

Hey! Isn’t this interesting and fun??

Fun for, like, a minute.

fun for a minute:

our future little one may end up looking more like me than if we'd had our own genetic little one because i had a nose job...

You know, I do think about some of the crappy genes I'm guessing I have from my birth parents. One time when the nurse asked us what our profile might look like for donor, I said, "Would someone smarter and way better looking than me be too much to ask?"

All the things I won't pass on to my children:

1. My freak-outs over getting my hands dirty. No kid should hate to get dirty.

2. My unruly hair.

3. My love of Mojitos. No kid should love mojitos.

My kids turned out just great. Dirt-lovin', straight-haired orange-juicers. We had donor eggs AND donor sperm (in a way).
