Ridiculous

What does an anxiety attack feel like?

Because I think I very well could be having one.

This is ridiculous.

Uh, remember that New Year's when I said I was going out to buy cigarettes and I went to the emergency room instead? And when I got back and told everybody, Tony said, "Does this mean you didn't get cigarettes?" Yeah. I think that was a panic attack. I hope you're OK, duder.

Anxiety attacks are no fun. :(

For me, my heart speeds way up, I get really hot, it is kind of hard to breathe, and my mind races.

My husband had one and thought he was having a heart attack.

Hope you are feeling better!

lets see from my experience, an inability to breath, tightness in the chest and a looming wish of death to come... and the only cure was my husbands love - hope things get better.

I'm sure everyone's symptoms are a little different... the first time I had one, I honestly thought I was having a heart attack. Just a funny, tight feeling in my chest, breathing hard, heart pounding, tingle going up my arm. (((hugs))) I called dh & we took a cab to my dr's office. He took one look at me & said, "Anxiety attack." My bp was high but came down as I calmed down. They ran an EKG & cardiac enzyme test on me to be sure & I was fine. He prescribed some ativan for me & while I hated how they made me feel, they did come in handy for several subsequent episodes. (((hugs))) Get yourself checked out if you're not sure. And if it is anxiety, you're certainly not alone.

Mine are like my nerves are standing on end, it's hard to breathe, and all I want to do is cry. I hope you're ok :(

Ugh. I hope it has passed.

Let me just add, that awful as a panic attack is, it is not harmful to you in any way. People often think they are having a heart attack or going crazy or going to lose control because the physiological symptoms are so intense. But you won't. Our bodies are built to feel this kind of stress. It's just that when you have a panic attack it's a false alarm. But it won't last forever, even though it feels like it in the moment.

Hang in there. Panic is really unpleasant. Email me if I can be of any help.

I think I had one once, maybe twice. The more clear one, I was in a Costco and suddenly NEEDED to get out. I felt like the walls were closing in. I couldn't get away fast enough. I felt safer once I was in my car and had some control over my surroundings.

I don't know if it was an actual panic attack or just a natural reaction to seeing one too many baby / pg ladies after a loss.

At the time, I felt like I was one breath away from going completely crazy.

I'm sorry. I wish I could reach through the internet and give you a hug.

if you have any, make yourself a cup of peppermint tea. breathe it in and just let your body relax. i know, first hand, just how hard it is to slow your mind.
hope you feel better soon, but please make sure to go to the doctor if you think it's necessary.

I'm sorry. I, for some reason, refuse to admit that I've had them, but I know I have. Since our babies. It's scary to lose control like that, I know. Luckily, for me, they seem to be triggered by my surroundings and subside as soon as I remove myself from them. Hope yours ends(ed) quickly as well.

Thinking of you.

If you feel as if someone's just kicked the wind out of you. Your vision is blurred and you can feel heart pounding in the sides of your head, it's probably an anxiety attack. I hope it passed and you feel better...

Sounds like a rough start to your day! I get that closed in feeling, need to get out, and then my body goes crazy and I end up with a hot flash - no idea if it is anxiety attacks, but it isn;t fun.

How are you doing now? I hope you weren't alone but also hope that you weren't alone in a sea of people which is even harder in my book.
